TECHNICAL DETAILS

When Dialer.NewDial runs, it does the following:
  1. Creates the folder, %Windir%\_DlrApps.

    Note: %Windir% is a variable. The dialer locates the Windows folder and creates the folder _DlrApps in that location. By default, this is C:Windows (Windows 95/98/Me/XP) or C:Winnt (Windows NT/2000).

  2. Copies itself as %Windir%\_DlrAppsigsex2x.exe.

  3. Adds the value:

    "igsex2x"="%Windows%\_DlrAppsigsex2x.exe /astart..."

    to the registry key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun

    so that the dialer runs when you start Windows.

  4. Creates a shortcut icon on the Windows Desktop and System Tray.

  5. Adds %Windir%\_DlrAppsigsex2x.exe to the Start Menu and the Windows Favorites.

  6. Runs the file, %Windir%\_DlrAppsigsex2x.exe. When this file runs, a dialog box similar to the following appears:
