The all_boot.exe file allows users of Norton AntiVirus products that have the Quarantine module to make a copy of their Master Boot Record so it may be submitted to the Symantec AntiVirus Research Center (SARC) for analysis. Please follow these steps to make copies of the Master Boot Records:
- Place the all_boot.exe file in the root directory of the first drive on the first disk.
- Execute the program from the command line or by double-clicking on it.
- Close the DOS Window.
- A file called BOOT.DAT will be created.
- Please place the file in Quarantine by using the "ADD ITEM" button in the Quarantine Console.
- From there, highlight the BOOT.DAT file and click on the "SUBMIT" button.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
- SARC will respond to your submission within one business week.
